it’s time for a glow-up, but this time with god.

As I sat with my Bible in one hand and my coffee in the other, I couldn’t help but wonder… how many of us are out here chasing glow-ups that have nothing to do with God?

We change our hair, switch up our wardrobe, and upgrade our relationship status. We hustle for the bag, get our bodies right, and curate the perfect aesthetic. We post late-night outings, designer fits, and photo dumps just to look like we’re living our best lives. But at the end of the day, after all the likes and compliments, are we really glowing? Or are we just covering up the same brokenness with a new aesthetic?

It’s Time for a Real Glow Up

Let’s be real. A true glow up starts from the inside out. And no shade to matcha lattes and pilates, they’re cute and all, but I’m talking about something way deeper. Your spirit. Your heart. Your soul. That’s where the real transformation begins.

Colossians 3:12 says,

“Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience.”

You see that? Paul is literally telling us what to wear. Not Zara, not H&M, or that cute pair of designer heels you’ve been eyeing, lol. We’re called to put on kindness, humility, and patience. When you truly glow in Christ, it’s not about what’s on your body. It’s about what’s in your spirit.

Girl, What Are You Wearing?

Some of us are still walking around wearing anxiety, bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, sexual sin, and pride while wondering why we feel stuck, why we don’t hear from God, or why we keep dealing with the same toxic cycles.

It’s time to change.

  • That anxiety? That’s not your personality. That’s a spiritual attack.

  • That toxic relationship? That’s not love. That’s bondage.

  • That hustle mentality where you think you have to prove yourself? That’s not ambition. That’s idolatry.

We can’t afford to entertain ourselves with these things anymore. The enemy is out here snatching souls left and right while we’re too busy trying to manifest things instead of praying things into existence.

This Glow Up Requires Deliverance!

The truth is, some things need to be rebuked, not tolerated. Anxiety, lust, drunkenness, jealousy—these things don’t belong to you, and they definitely don’t belong in your spirit. The enemy is out here handing out contracts, and too many of us are unknowingly signing off on them because we’re entertaining things God told us to walk away from.

But guess what? You don’t have to stay stuck.

You have the power through Jesus to break free. You are covered by the blood. But you have to step into that authority, repent, and start walking in your true identity.

It’s time to get dressed, sis.

So what’s the real glow up?

• It’s knowing who you are in Christ.

• It’s choosing holiness over hype.

• It’s walking in freedom instead of cycles.

• It’s putting on the character of Christ and letting go of everything that keeps you bound.

So girl, it’s time. Time to strip off what’s been weighing you down and put on the righteousness of Christ. Time to stop chasing a glow up that fades and start embracing the one that lasts for eternity.

Because at the end of the day, it won’t matter how good you looked or how much money you made. What will matter is if you lived for Jesus.

Welcome to the Sisterhood

At Girls Gospel Hour, we’re not just talking about it. We’re here to walk this journey with you. We know that sometimes you can’t fight these battles alone. That’s why we have a prayer request section on our site where you can submit your requests, even anonymously, because you don’t have to do this by yourself.

Yes, you can pray on your own, but sometimes you need intercessors—women who will stand in the gap for you, who will pray on your behalf when you’re too weak to pray for yourself. That’s what we’re here for.

And this isn’t just an online thing. We’re building a real sisterhood. We’ll be hosting meetups, Bible studies, and kingdom-focused events to help women grow in Christ and support each other.

This is a judgment-free zone. We have all sinned. We were born into sin. But we don’t have to stay there. We can break generational curses, step into our God-given identity, and walk in the light of Jesus Christ.

We are the brides of Christ, and it’s time we start acting like it.

So sis, are you ready for the real glow up?
